Whoever invented brunch is a bloomin’ genius. For someone like me, who doesn’t usually crave food until past 10am, this meal time merger is a dream. As such, I’m always on the look out for a new spot to get my fix, so I was thrilled to hear about newly opened Zona in Stoke Newington.

New brunch spot alert in Stoke Newington! ZONA N16 had me from the moment I read Smokey Bacon Sloppy Joes and Ricotta, Pear, Honey & Thyme on toast. <3

Running my eyes over their menu, I was instantly drawn towards a few of their dishes. Standout eats for me were:
- Open Top Rueben – (Layers of salt beef smothered in melted Swiss cheese and a tangy gherkin on sourdough toast)
- Smokey Bacon Sloppy Joes – (hotdog bun filled with mince, tomatoes and spices and topped with crispy bacon, sour cream and jalapenos)
- Pulled Pork Benedict on a light fragrant croissant – (poached eggs, pulled pork, avocado, dressed with hollandaise sauce)
On weekends they serve the ultimate brunch weekend special. If you’re not sure whether the English Breakfast or Sunday lunch came first, Zona have merged the two and created: Crispy Yorkshire pudding filled with egg, mushrooms, sausage, bacon & beans.
Although these dishes are what caught my eyes, Zona has a pretty versatile menu, and is the perfect place to head to if you have a large group of friends (and their dietary requirements) to accommodate. There’s plenty of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian dishes, including ricotta, pear, honey & thyme on toast.
On weekends they also serve a bottomless prosecco brunch… so what are you waiting for?!
