Last month, we were given the opportunity to try our hand at judging at the International Cheese Awards, held on the edge of the historic market town of Nantwich. We also entered the Cheese Advent Calendar, and I’m thrilled to say – we came home with a bronze award!
The Cheese Advent Calendar started as a seed of an idea a few years ago, and after a lot of hard work we had a sell out launch exclusively with Asda in 2017. Now, nearly a year on we have bigger and better plans for 2018 – so keep your eyes peeled!
The International Cheese Awards are held a day before the main Nantwich Show, which is open to everyone. It’s officially the largest cheese show in the world, and the renowned Cheese Marquee measures in excess of 83,000 sq ft, showcasing over 5,500 entries of every type of cheese from all over the world. A real feast! Not only is it a good opportunity to try some new cheeses, the exhibitors often have special offers on, so you can go home with a fridge full of the good stuff. (Is there such a thing as too much cheese?)
