Cheese lovers, I am thrilled to announce that the Cheese Advent Calendar is back for its second year, and this time we are launching it in more stores, in more countries and with more cheeses!
There is so much love and work that goes into making this product, so I wanted to bring you on the journey we’ve been on over the past year and give you a sense of scale around this project. So many people are involved, so we’ve put together a little, ‘behind the scenes’ video to check out!
Available from the end of November, the countries receiving the calendar this year are:
- UK: in Asda, Sainsbury’s and Booths stores nationwide.
- USA: in over 247 Super Target stores nationwide.
- France: in Carrefour supermarkets nationwide.
- Denmark: Co-op stores nationwide.
- Portugal: Continente stores nationwide.
If your country is not on this list, I’m really, really sorry we couldn’t make it happen this year. Trust me, we tried! We’ve been pitching it round to as many retailers in as many countries as we can, but ultimately the decision is in their hands.
I’ve learnt a lot over the last two years, and I’ve found that the pitch to retailers is massively helped by all of you Tweeting, emailing, or commenting on Facebook posts with a desire for the calendar. It’s a tough job getting people to believe in your idea, and I work hard collating all of your feedback to ensure supermarket buyers understand the demand. I don’t like to disappoint people, but want to reassure you that for 2019, we won’t stop trying to expand into as many markets as we can. Just bear with me as we figure it all out. 🙂
The Cheese Advent Calendar was made with the help of Norseland, Ilchester and has 24 pieces of individually wrapped cheese, in 7 varieties – including a limited edition surprise! Like last year, the calendar has a unique ‘book style’ packaging design, allowing one half to be torn off after the initial 12 days of Christmas to maximise fridge space.
All cheeses are suitable for vegetarians, and the advent calendar must be kept refrigerated!
The calendar drops into stores from the end of November, so make sure you are signed up to the newsletter to be the first to hear about the official launch, as well as my other cheesy inventions! We will post a full list of stores by November 14th.
