It’s National Curry Week, and I teamed up with Unite Students to whip together a simple 15 minute curry in a hurry.

Introducing: Prawn To Be Wild

Now, I must admit – I crowd sourced ideas to name this recipe with my friends and there were some cracking suggestions. They were too good not to mention so here’s some of my favourites:

If you’re keen to cook up this curry, here’s the list of ingredients and the method is in the video above.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 packet frozen prawns, or even better go for 250g of fresh prawns – any size.
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp black mustard seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric 
  • 1 inch ginger (peeled)
  • 1 fresh chilli pepper
  • Small bunch fresh coriander 
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 lime
  • Basmati rice (75g per person)
  • Knob of butter (optional)
